Originally from Poland, Gosia Walton is an Edinburgh-based artist working across drawing, printmaking and painting. She received her Master in Fine Art in Contemporary Art Practice at Edinburgh College of Art in 2015.
Drawing is now a daily ritual throughout her life, used as a necessary tool to record, access and represent a different kind of written language. It’s a visual example of communication that doesn’t have to be rooted in cognitive thinking. The work capture organ- unique “letters” immersed into an internal world through undulating lines. The work is colourful, abstract, intimate and a place to work through Walton’s complicated relationship with femininity, joy, and pleasure.
